Gangs and corruption is everywhere but I do think dodgy international gang groups are moving to Australia to also do their dirty work here.

I would hazard a guess that ‘charny boys’ were against, well, anyone who was not from ‘charny’ or a boy. Just because they didn’t single a particular minority group doesn’t make them any more honorable.

The thing I’m finding most difficult about your comments is this – you disparage ‘them’ for engaging in behaviour that singles people because of their association with a group, rather than on their own merits. And in the same breath you go ahead and disparage everyone who does not belong to the white Australia group for (apparently) introducing this attitude to our (previously innocent and pure) culture.

‘White’ Australians were busy hunting down aboriginal Australians for sport well before the Nazis came on the scene. Australian hands are far from clean.

neo nazism was not an australian concept, white australia policy was. Neo Nazism was introduced into australia via germany and the US, same white supremacy, different bent on it. We already had it here, but it had been driven underground by a changing social climate.

Whether white, brown, fair, dark, etc, etc, I don’t care about the background of a person.

What i do object to is the exploitation of the weak and underprivileged by “kingpin” figures. People who have taken the knowledge of other gangs in their country of origin, and have set up the same sorts of operations here.

There are examples of gangs here, charny boys being one, but they were never against one particular type of person, there was safety in numbers…

I don’t believe that Australia is better than anywhere else, I have never been anywhere else…

Are you saying that Australians don’t engage in neo-nazism and other ‘gang’ behaviour without being incited to do so by other cultures?

And you accuse others of stirring up racial hatred …

Patriotism (devoted love, support, and defense of one’s country; national loyalty) is not the same as nationalism (the doctrine that your national culture and interests are superior to any other).

mafiosa, neonazism, etc, etc. If these forms of expression were stamped out by the community in which they reside, there would be less focus on the actions of the few.

There are many gang subcultures O/S that have direct links into large and old families. they exist in many countries, and there are certain families that look on the behaviours as something for their kids to aspire to.

Coming to australia, or, indeed, any other country is seen as an opportunity to promote the family business.

Cliche I know, but it is important to look at the directions that some young people take when presented with a life of squalor or joining a gang – being able to sleep in a house, eat food and survive seems trivial, until the only option to survive is to join one of these gangs, and so the cycle continues.

The main focus that the media should have is that any gang that is engaging in criminal activity should be eradicated.

from Stirring up racial hatred for others to cause a riot, attacking a youth for his shoes, stealing a wallet and kicking a man to death at the train station, these gang related incidents have all been reported on as a one line in a news bulletin.

But the moment that a bikie is caught doing the wrong thing, the public is in danger from all OMCG…

I must be feeling my age…

if you look at the gangs that roam the streets of sydney, melbourne, perth, brisbane, et al, the bikies are the least of our concerns. The problem stems from a lack of parental guidance, or too much… Or the introduction into the country of certain behaviours that are tolerated in the country of origin of the parents.

Gang mentality has its roots in many places, but some of the nastiest gags in operation in australia have ancestry in europe, the US, asia or, for a stereotypical particularly nasty group, germany.

ah, yes, but wait for the media to get wind that they are a part of a OMCG. they will then start the witch hunt all over again. Today Tonight and ACA live for this kind of info.

Why is it that OMCG members are being singled out? why doesn’t the media focus on all gangs who pose a threat to the public?
