Robbery in Mitchell – Folk Festival

There was an incident in Mitchell today 9th April, at around 1.00pm an 18-year-old man was in a toilet at a folk
festival located at Exhibition Park washing his hands when he was approached by three men. The men demanded the victim’s wallet which he handed over immediately. One of the males then grabbed the victim by his shirt and pushed him against the wall at which point this male took the victim’s entry wrist band.
The first offender was described as around 18-years-old, Caucasian, about 6â (183cms) tall, with a slim build, a rats tail hanging out of a black baseball cap and was wearing a blue top and tracksuit pants.
The second offender was described as around 18-years-old, Caucasian, about 5â6â (168cms) tall, with dark hair and was wearing a red T-shirt with writing on the front and blue jeans.
The third offender was also described as around 18-years-old, Caucasian and around 5â6â (168cms) tall.

Unfortunately, large groups of people (like at the Folk Festival) will attract a certain number of dills as well. An isolated incident such as this can’t really be prevented without significantly impinging on festival-goers freedoms and with a great amount of expense to the organisers (which drives cost of attendance up, etc).
