Man Impersonates Police Officer
Posted on April 21, 2009 by by scoop
A man impersonated a police officer in Sydney’s Southwest last night.
A man was driving near the intersection of Lindeman Crescent and Lord Howe Drive at Hinchinbrook about 8:45pm when a white Commodore sedan activated a flashing blue light on its dashboard.
As a result, the man pulled over on Lindeman Crescent, with the white Commodore pulling up behind him. The AFP reported.
Another man exited the Commodore and approached the window of the vehicle being driven by the Mt Pritchard man, requesting to see his drivers licence.
Upon seeing the man in plain clothes, the Mt Pritchard man requested to see the other man’s police badge. He was notified it was in the police vehicle.
The unknown man then returned to the Commodore and did a U-turn before speeding away. He was last seen driving east towards Lord Howe Drive.
Was this just a joke from the driver of the commodore or are people starting to take the law into their own hands when they see drivers breaking road rules? either way if you have any information about the white Commodore or the man allegedly impersonating a police officer contact Green Valley Police via Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

My vote would be for ‘a bit of a lark’. Doesn’t make it any better though. The things people do for entertainment!
