Is Canberra having a dust storm?

Posted on April 15, 2009 by by scoop

There seems to be a bit of a dust storm in Canberra, it is also very windy out there.

The BOM site did say it would be dry with areas of raised dust. Fresh to strong and gusty westerly winds easing this evening. Lets hope that is right.

Update From ESA

The ACT State Emergency Service (ACT SES) and the ACT Fire Brigade are responding to calls for assistance as a result of the current strong winds and dust storm.

The call outs are for fallen trees in various suburbs across the city including Yarralumla, Garren, Florey, Chifley and Lyons.

ah, the dust has passed. left me (in no order) with:
    a) brown car – normally white
    b) annoying coughy thing
    c) strange patterns on the house windows. (suspect my kids, but they are denying it)
