Child dies of swine flu in the US

A two-year-old child from Texas had died of the Swine Flue in the US

This is the first confirmed death in the US from the Swine Flue virus. The virus has killed over 150 people and roughly 2,500 illnesses in Mexico.

There are also 31 suspected cases in Queensland, 19 in Victoria,  14 in South Australia, 10 in New South Wales, 8 in Western Australia, 6 in ACT, 2 in Tasmania and one in Northern Territory.

    @ loquacity – indeed :P

    I thought that number (150) had been toned down by the mexican govt…..since a number of those had died from the more common influenza strain and not the actual H1N1(??) strain.

    I thought only seven people died from it? I heard that on the news, but then I also heard 12 people and so on. Good thing we only have 5 tv channels around.. :-)

    I was discussing swine flu with some mates yesterday. one comment that came up was whether there would be a beef or lamb flu, any time soon. Not very PC, but they wondered if it could drive the cost of these other meats down…
