$1,000,000 Ring Stolen in Melbourne

Victoria Crime Stoppers is seeking public assistance to help solve the theft of a $1,000,000 ring from a notable Melbourne Jeweller.
The ring known as the Million Dollar Ring, was on display in the front window of the Collins Street store.
The incident happened during the day time at about 4.40 pm on Sunday 29 March, 2009. A man dressed in black, approached the window and started hitting it with a small sledge hammer. He was able to make a small hole in the glass he reached in and took the ring.
He was last seen running east on Collins Street and into an arcade leading out into Equitable Place.
Police also wish to speak to anyone who may have sold a hammer, similar to the one below, to anyone on 29 March, 2009.
