Women caught at Sydney International Airport

A women was caught trying to smuggle heroin into Australia last week. afp_logo

“A 38-year-old Pyrmont woman will face Sydney Central Local Court today charged with smuggling heroin into Australia.

The woman arrived at Sydney International Airport on a flight from Vietnam on Friday, 27 February.”

Customs and Border Protection officers stopped the female passenger for questioning. During baggage examinations officers became suspicious that the woman may have been concealing drugs internally.

The matter was referred to the Australian Federal Police and the woman was taken to hospital for a medical examination. It will be alleged in court that the woman was concealing approximately 337 grams of heroin internally.” AFP media release

This is the second person in two days facing the Sydney Central Local Court after an american women was caught  bringing drugs into the country.
