McDonald’s Aussie Fries – real large size

Posted on March 18, 2009 by by valerirojas

McDonald’s is probably not the best thing to eat but sometimes when you are in a hurry you need something quick and cheap to have. I don’t know about you but to me that sounds like junk food stores such as MacDonalds, KFC and others.

My problem is when I get a large McDonald’s meal the amount of chips they give me does not look right, it is always too little or so I thought.

After having this happening a few times, I decided to measure the amount of chips I was given and the results were amazing. They actually served me exactly the amount of chips the package mentions.

Large chips - serving per package average is 128g

The image below shows how much I got for my large meal and shockingly enough that amount is correct. 128g

I don’t know about you but the picture above does not look anything like the pictures they have in their website, see picture below.

So is that false advertising from McDonald’s or not? the images they show in their website and tv are obviously wrong but the serving amount you will probably get in a Mac store is correct.

One more picture with a ruler measuring an exact 128g large chips and a 104g medium chips. The chips were bought at a Canberra McDonald’s store.

I have found that it depends on the store itself conder is pretty cheap on fries, erindale is ok, but the all time favorite store, for me is weston. sometimes, I think that they just fill the bag for me…

There was a bloke who used to run a blog, buying various takeaway foods, and comparing them to their promotional photos. He stopped after a while. Perhaps he ate too much takeaway and died?
    (Oh, and it’s “McDonald’s”)

There’s a few blogs around like that, I think it would get rather depressing after a very short time.

  7. I always ask for the small fries. I like ‘em lots, but that way I can have the taste without drowning in the fat! My worst problem is when they don’t stick enough salt on. I hate that! It’s never as good when you have to stick the salt on after.

That’s because the salt they use in the frystation isn’t just plain salt, like you get in the little sachets ;)

  13. That’s so mean! Just because I didn’t ask the question doesn’t mean you don’t have to tell me ….

    *sigh*

OK! My very first job, when I was in High School, was as a McDonald’s “Party Girl”.

… and the stuff they use is a really fine grade salt, with some sort of flavour enhancer in it. It’s a little like chicken salt, but not quite.

    :P

That if you were hanging around in a certain part of rural Queensland in the mid-nineties that you probably ran into me dressed as Birdie, had a balloon blown up by Yours Truly, or met Ronald McDonald (as escorted by me).

All in all, for a Macca’s job, there are worse ones to have ;)

I escorted him a few times, actually, around a number of stores (not just ours). There’s at least one funny story from that time too …

Oh, and at the time there were two Ronalds in Australia (I escorted one of them a few times and the other just once). Not sure how many they have now, but I’d be willing to bet it’s at least two.
