Who should drive popular music?

For many and many years the music industry has been driven by record companies, managers and the media. They are the ones who decide what you will listen to and what you think is good music.

So how much money are the artists making comparing them to the record companies, producers and managers? and what about all the other good musicians and bands working hard to be recognised but never make it big because they want to do their own projects and work?

Now, thanks to the internet popular music is changing and soon enough what is popular will be decided by all of us “the people”. No longer we have to listen to the same stupid, boring and crappy songs played in the ten, 20 or 50 radio stations in your city. You can go online and find a world full of music, thousands if not millions of bands, artists, records to listen to. You can listen to what you want and decide on what is popular and not.

Hopefully this will give a chance to real musicians, bands, singers and other artists to be recognised for their hard work.

So why don’t you start making a difference by going online and searching for music you think is good or do you still want to be told what to listen to?

  1. Go online look for good music but buy their records. Musicians practice hard and should be rewarded for it.
