Google Android coming to Australia

Optus, one of top Australian Telecommunications services will be offering the new HTC mobile phone powered by Google Android, an open source application will allow the community to create and develop new applications for the HTC mobile phone.

Unlike Iphones the HTC mobiles will not be locked in with any network, which means you can buy the phone out right and go with anyone you want to…

    i was the first in the ACT to get one! walked into the optus store early monday and expected to see a long line of geeks. but no!

    after a week with it i think its by far the best mobile on the planet. especially when you start to dive into the android market and download free apps. once more aussie’s get one maybe there will be more specific apps for australia.

    I am stuck with Telstra, unfortunately I have to wait until next year to get me one as well.
